THE VOICE OF GOD

The Voice of God

I heard the voice of God one day, He spoke so clear and plain,
I reveled in the sound of it, such clear and sweet refrain!

But over time, this speech so clear, began to fade and dim,
'til finally I could hear it not, and turned away from Him.

It seemed as though He'd gone from me, so I then sought my way,
and chose which roads were best to go, and suffered every day.

My world was filled with darkened nights, my past seemed just a lie,
no joy, nor love would come to me, my hope began to die.

But in a moment, in a flash, my dulled and sinful heart,
was shown a light, a call from God, that woke me with a start.

For God does not abandon us, but stays real close at hand,
so when we finally "listen up", the truth we understand.

A still small voice is His, you see. In love, it whispers low
to His Beloved children here, wherever we would go.

The "shouts" are for His enemies, their judgments to begin,
this "distance" then, I'd ill perceived , was from my very sin!

Oh Father's love that ever speaks, Your voice comes to my ear.
My one and only prayer is this: that I'll stay close to hear!

FOR GOD, I BELIEVE AND RECEIVE

For God, I Believe and Receive

But for the wondrous grace of God,
My wretched state you’d see,
But for the wondrous grace of God,
This man would n’er stand free.

But for this gift of love supreme
The blackness of my night would scream,
With demon’s hate and fire’s pain,
My future full of just the same.
(my future full of just the same)

But for the wondrous grace of God
My useless life would daily stand
in empty tribute to my sin,
a victim to the Law’s demand.

How can a God of Light so pure,
Look on this worm of Adam’s race,
Yet pay a price beyond belief,
To purchase freedom, offer grace?

Why should He give this gift to me?
A man enslaved to sinful life.
Why should His love flow from His Throne,
and free me from my dire plight?

I cannot think these thoughts so high
My mind too simple cannot fly
In such a lofty place above
Where dwells this Perfect God of Love.

Chorus:

But God, I believe and receive, for Your hands, they show us Your love,
And God I believe and receive, this Gift you have sent from above.
For God, I believe and receive, though my eyes cannot see to Your Land,
And God, I believe and receive, for in Your Promise is where I will stand.

HEALING RAINS

HEALING RAINS

When no more tears are left to weep and we are dried up from the heat, from tribulations burning fires or lashes from God's Holy ire, True Children find a fount within, the Spirit Pure that He has giv'n, and in His Holy Healing Rain, they find relief from all their pain. With Living Waters clear and sweet He pours and cools the searing heat, and with their faces lifted high, it is from joy that they will cry. For if we know no tempest fires, rods of correction, funeral pyres, how can we then sing this refrain, "I have discovered healing rain"? Chorus: Healing rains, healing rains pour down upon me now, healing rains, healing rains I need to feel your power __________________________________________________

TWISTED HEART

TWISTED HEART - (a ballad of a man's life)

      by LION'S EYE

There was a twisted little man,
who had a twisted heart,
and when he went to fix it,
knew not where to start.

He looked within his twistedness
to seek some answers there
but all he saw inside himself
was a bent and twisted stare.

Reflections of "another face",
that seemed unlike his own,
a grimace with a promise
"for him and him alone".

"If only you will follow,
your twisted little heart,
then you'll find the answers
to give your life a start!"

"Great secrets you will find there,
you'll be a huge success,
all things to know and fathom,
a "god of mightiness"!

Though "Twisted Heart" was troubled
by such a boast so grand,
he blindly followed in the steps
of all his fellow man.

He tried so hard to listen to
the voice that spoke within,
to lift himself beyond the crowd,
far from the deafening din.

In solitude and quietness then
he sought something apart,
beyond the sadness ever there,
that gripped his dying heart.

But twisted does...as twisted is,
and try as he could do,
everything that came from him
was dark and dying too!

So lying in the stillness of
a silent, brooding night,
with fear-filled shock and dizziness,
there came a sudden Light!

No Face, no Place, no words he heard,
that fell upon his ear,
but Just a Holy Presence,
a Supernatural Fear.

His life was summed, all added up
and zero's were it's end,
his future's bleak perspective
an emptiness...all grim.

A flash...a scene...of Holiness
beyond all true belief
and suddenly he saw it come,
Life's Source in stark relief!

His Life, His Cross, His Death for all
included Twisted Heart!
His Love, His Grace so freely given
could give a brand new start!

How could he turn from such a Light
this Truth so clear and grand,
that came to him not from within,
nor from the mind of man?

And as he opened up his heart
and let the Truth come in,
this Twisted One began to change
and straighten from his sin.

His eyes were filled with wonder
and the tears began to flow,
his joy so great he thought he'd burst,
his new heart beating so!

Like many other Twisted Ones
that found the Source of Light,
he fell upon his face right then,
that glorious untwisted night.

And though the battles are not few
throughout this Warrior's Life,
Great Peace now reigns where once had been
all twisted, blinded strife.

So when his end can finally come
his time for swords and marching done,
No twistedness he'll ever see,
but Peace and Light and happiness...for all eternity.
